New Beer Thursday July 21, 2011

Due to the lack of anything new or exciting: Here's some news.

Firestone Walker has finally figured out what distributor to use here in Colorado. C.R. Goodman has been chosen to do the dirty work. This great distributor also brings us Stone, Avery, Dogfish Head, Left Hand, Lagunitas, Upslope, and many more craft brands. As a specialist in craft beer distribution I have faith they can handle Firestone Walker. Select stores will see DBA, Union Jack, and Solace in six-packs, Double Jack, Union Jack, and possibly 14 Anniversary in 22oz bottles beginning next week. Most of the beer bars downtown (Freshcraft, Euclid Hall, Uptown Brothers, and Falling Rock) will be having release parties this weekend.

Russian River has not been delivered to the state of Colorado in almost a month. If you are having a fix for Pliny, you still have to wait.

Lagunitas being the stoner brewery there are, are still having troubles catching up with week long shut down in mid June. This shut down only affected their bottling line as it was being moved as part of Lagunitas' expansion. We are still waiting on Little Sumpin' Stoopid but it is no longer on their website so who knows where it went. Imperial Stout 22oz will be added to our year-round line-up whenever they decide to send beer this way.

Shelton Brothers and Elite Distributing has amended their way of ordering for select accounts. Lukas Liquor had taken a stand against Elites preorder system. This system, which stores were doing pre-orders for product based on Shelton inventories that were 2 weeks old and Elite would sit on the pre-orders for an addition week or two, had failed results. Their should now be a turn-around from Shelton inventory updates to our pre-order submission of less than a week. This should result in much more of Shelton's vast specialty imports... hopefully.
